new rig pics & prices

waiting on breakout cable to connect raid controller with drives, will post benchmarks

Dell(LSI oem) Perc5i SAS Raid Controller with 256meg DDR2 battery backed read/write cache, PCIE x8 interface, used server pull ($100). Dell mounting and heatsink removed, replaced with modded PCI mounting plate from dead ethernet card, heatsink replaced with thermaltake northbridge active heatsink ($15) kit included the hooks need to secure sink to the wireloops on board. Specs show 80degree celsius operating temp and this thing does get HOT.



3x Fujitsu MAX3073RC 73gb 15,000rpm SAS drives (3.2ms avg seek 90meg/sec sustained read/write) ($45 each) mounted on startech 2x5.25" bay to 3x3.5" with fan ($17) Configured in Raid5 on the LSI card.




1of3 2gb 1600mhz OCZ ddr3 sticks @ 7-7-7 timing ($95 set) What are those posts? Those are for attaching the liquid cooling pipes haha



tight fit, msi overclocked gtx260 with 896meg of ddr3 ($145) along bottom. OCZ 780W modular power supply ($60) on top, recycled case and dvdburner ($0) motherboard is asus p6t se openbox ($160) with i7 920 ($200)
